Our Staff

LifePoint Therapists and Spiritual Directors are highly trained professionals, holding a Masters or Doctorate Degree in a counseling related field. Mark Tidsworth, Executive Director

Mark serves as the Executive Director of LifePoint Counseling Center, helping to start the Center in June, 2008. Mark is an ordained minister and licensed therapist, with years of experience. Mark's vocational journey includes the pastorate, high management group home, mental health center, and private practice. Starting and directing a similar center, Lowcountry Pastoral Counseling, in Charleston, SC was a joy for Mark. More recently Mark started and directed the Center for Clergy & Congregations at Palmetto Health. Now, in addition to LifePoint, Mark runs Pinnacle Leadership Associates. Clients find Mark’s clinical work to be insightful, caring, and growth oriented.

Martha Beahm, Therapist & Spiritual Director

Martha provides therapy and spiritual direction at LifePoint. She is an ordained minister, licensed therapist, and certified spiritual director. Clients experience Martha as warm and caring, with keen insight for growth and change. Martha’s vocational journey includes church staff ministry and chaplaincy. Now Martha works as the EAP provider for the staff of Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC in addition to her work at LifePoint. Martha's rich experience equips her to help a wide variety of clients with varying concerns.

Don Hillyard, Therapist

With over 30 years of pastoral experience and over 20 years of clinical experience, Don brings a wealth of caring wisdom to his work with clients. Don moved to South Carolina in 2007, after serving as a pastor and therapist in New York. Don’s last position was in New York City, directing the clinical work in the Disaster Relief Program for the Lutheran Counseling Center after 9/11. Through these experiences, along with his deep faith and solid clinical training, Don specializes in resolving trauma and working through relational binds. Clients find Don engaging, making solid progress when he is their therapist. Don provides counseling at our LifePoint NorthEast Site.

Shirley Huisman Jezowski, Therapist

Shirley is a lively and insightful therapist, with much clinical and academic experience. While serving in several mental health centers, Shirley gained expertise with children, families, couples, and adults. Now she is a versatile therapist, with a warm engaging style. After moving to South Carolina from Iowa, Shirley completed a PhD in Clinical Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Now she teaches at the college level, along with her work at LifePoint. Clients experience Shirley as very accepting as well as interested in their progress and growth toward wholeness.

Jennifer Gilmore, Therapist

Jennifer focuses on bringing out the best and most healthy aspects of her clients. Jennifer worked for over 15 years in varying departments with Palmetto Health Hospital System. Her last position there was in the Pastoral Counseling Center. After working in Private Practice, Jennifer joined the LifePoint team. Being part of a team focused on quality client care is important to Jennifer. Through her varied experiences and positions, Jennifer has gained wisdom for helping her clients move through concerns toward health and wholeness.

Jewell Hay Oddo
