Guide Points

The Mission of LifePoint Counseling Center is to provide professional faith-based counseling, training, and enrichment services in a private, non-profit setting to the Midlands residents of South Carolina.

What will people find when they choose LifePoint Counseling Center as a source for help and care? One can learn a lot about an organization from their Guide Points, the core values on which the organization is built. LifePoint uses four Guiding Points for building service, entering partnerships, and providing care.

Professional Clinical Services
Doing the best we can to provide the highest level of professional clinical care is our goal each time we engage our clients and community. Each therapist at LifePoint is well educated and trained, most with many years of clinical service. We regularly engage in clinical supervision, ensuring quality care for our clients. You will find therapists who are licensed in their clinical specialty areas at LifePoint. Not only does this emphasis on quality ensure a high level of expertise, it allows us to address many clinical concerns.

Faith-Based Counseling
This phrase is used in many different ways. What does faith-based counseling mean at LifePoint? Clients who come to LifePoint are encouraged to bring their faith with them. Our therapists are trained to integrate the client’s faith into the change, healing, and growth process. We integrate the best of the behavioral sciences with the wisdom and compassion of the Christian tradition to provide holistic counseling. Each therapist maintains a high degree of respect for each client’s faith journey.

Accessibility
We want to make LifePoint services available and accessible to as many people in our communities as we can serve. Accessibility then is a Guiding Point in two ways. First, we are growing geographically accessible. Our hub site is in Lexington, SC with our first Satellite in NorthEast Columbia, SC. We look forward to establishing additional Satellites, making counseling more accessible to more people. Second, we work to make our services financially accessible. The Samaritan Scholarship Fund can supplement the fee for those who could not afford this level of service otherwise. We continually work to increase donations to the Samaritan Scholarship Fund.

Partnering
Collaborating and partnering with others around our mission is a primary part of the LifePoint model. Congregations, businesses, agencies, and individuals partner with us to advance our mission. Without these partnerships, the LifePoint model would not be viable. With these partnerships, we can do so much more than we could do alone.
